Fun fact! You can actually downgrade on these things, just make sure you short the "CLEAR CMOS" pins afterwards to reset it to default settings. I accidentally upgraded to a beta bios, and it caused me to lose my favourite splash screen on an old gigabyte mb. Downgraded with no problems!

Hello, I'll be trying this right now. I had a memory card that suddenly stopped working. My camera couldn't read it, nor could my PC. I formatted the card as you said, with a quick format, and it is still recovering. I'll be back with some updates!

Hard disk not found y no entiendo porque, el disco duro esta bueno pero mi pc ya no quiere reconocerlo estuve mirando muchos videos y que la falla mas común es por una desconfiguracion de la BIOS ¿Con este método puedo poner la BIOS de fábrica y volver a reconocer el disco duro?

on the SATA cables, you typically want the right-angle/90 degree end connected to the drives and the straight end connected to the motherboard - just FYI

An old upload that is super relevant to my issues today. I am actually learning PC building and gaming as a new hobby and have obtained used untested mobo's. Many I've lucked out on and they have booted and work great. Some are just wrecks with severely bent cpu socket pins, some were finicky in what type of ram makes them happy etc. I have a problem Asrock Z390M Pro4 that fires up but no display. Took the CMOS battery out, swapped it out with another and nothing. The board has only 2 pins for the clr-bios. Can a small screwdriver be used in place of the jumper cap, because I don't have one of those. As a neewb I wasn't sure how to actually use the re-set pins until watching this video. Thank you for sharing and explaining in detail these valuable instructions.

Omg i didn't realize this video was like 11 years old. I have an external hard drive that wont boot it just makes a tick, tick, tick sound . Would i be able to use hirens boot cd to access the contents of my external hard drive that doesn't seem to work anymore ?

Acer Veriton, would not power on, power light and fans with limited power would switch on and off. I checked everything... and also removed the CMOS battery but all unsuccessful. So I finally tried the CMOS clear jumper and it worked. Thanks for the video and explanation.

I like this video, i will look for the jumper in my 1996 packard bell, as bios wont boot into windows. i am getting a operating system not found, i haven seen any vidoes on this issue,, if so pls make one so i can get this stubborn p.c into windows 95 _pls....

I know this is a really old post but I'm hoping you might be able to help out. I've got a Toshiba Satellite L55- B5276 with a DAOBL IM6FO motherboard. I've been searching for the cmos reset for over a week. I can't find a video on the exact motherboard and I can't find a set of jumpers... You seem to be more knowledgeable than most, I'm hoping you know (it's a Skullcandy edition and those sound of it is incredible)... Thanks in advance.

Turn on the computer by pressing and holding the power button. After a while it will turn itself off. Unpress the power button. Press the power button.

Hey do you know that if I upgrade my bios to AM3+ is all AM3+ processors then working? Because I check that list Asus M4A89TD PRO-USB 3 and I dont find FM-4300 on that list? I just dont understand why some CPU with same socket would not work. Usually what i know that example if I got AM3 and what ever AM3 CPU i put there is working. Sometimes it doesn know the name but all working. But is there some situations that some might not work?
